DAVE SULLIVAN
Dave Sullivan was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas and began
playing the guitar in his early teens.
Dave’s musical taste and experiences have encompassed many
genres of music. Currently, Dave's main focus is Jazz.
He has played professionally for more than 50 years.
Sullivan has a rich history that includes a wide variety of club
dates, shows, concerts, dances, weddings, receptions, birthday and anniversary
celebrations, grand openings, picnics, bar mitzvahs, parades, boat cruises,
etc.
His earlier experiences included playing in some rather
memorable settings: aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise; on flat bed
trucks and trailers; in a chartered tour bus; on a movie sound stage in
Hollywood for the filming of "Dr Goldfoot & The Bikini Machine",
and performing with well known entertainers of different eras (the Elvis
Presley Show, Louis Jordan and The Timpani Five, Herb Jeffries, Slim Gaillard,
Sleepy LaBeef, Mary Kaye, and many others).
For five seasons, Dave performed in a Green Bay Packers Tailgate
Band at Lambeau Field.
Dave served as a guitar instructor at Lawrence University,
Lakeland College, Marian College, Sheboygan and Fox Valley UW Centers, UW Green
Bay Summer Jazz Camps, Birch Creek Music Center, music stores and his home
studio.
Along with several appearances at the Neenah and Fox Jazz Fests,
Dave has performed at Summerfest (Milwaukee, WI), The Great River Jazz Festival
(La Crosse, WI), The Bunny Berigan Jazz Jubilee (Fox Lake, WI), The Elkhart
Jazz Festival (Elkhart IN), and the Nairn International Jazz Festival (Nairn,
Scotland), among others.
